The Spirit of Truth |

"The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you". (John 14:17)
Jesus told His disciples that when the Helper comes who is also called the Spirit of truth, that the world will not receive Him. We, as Christians, know the Spirit of truth because He dwells within us. Do you sometimes have trouble understanding what is truth and what is not?
In today's world someone will say one thing, and someone else will say just the opposite. They both claim to tell the truth. How do we know the difference? How do we know what is truly correct? As we study Scripture and rely on the Spirit of truth who dwells within us, we will know the truth.
One of the reasons that our Helper has been sent to be with us and live within us is to give us discernment for knowing what is true. We will grow in our ability to understand and to discern what the Spirit of truth is showing us as we spend more time in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
We need to become more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives. So often in the church world today, we see Christians who have accepted Jesus as Savior but have little understanding of the Holy Spirit who was sent to be His presence in our lives today. Draw close to the Lord today and ask Him to teach you about the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to help you to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life so that you can "do all things through Christ who strengthens you." We are admonished over and over in the New Testament to walk in the Spirit, to live by the Spirit, and to be led by the Spirit. Let the Spirit of truth be your guide today and every day.
